Facebook smileys are cute smiley faces that people like to insert into their Facebook chat window to add some fun to them! They’re quite a new addition, but have soon become the ‘norm’ for anyone who uses Facebook chat on the biggest social networking website in the world.

Why are Icons for Facebook secret?
This is a query that has certainly long puzzled those who like using popular internet sites. Why, if there are features such as emotions available, would the company not inform people about them? The answer is evident – if you let us know how to insert them you dirty the screen space and make it messy and more dirty. You also would create a more cluttered and less streamlined website – something that Facebook in particular has been trying to stay away from with their website. It really moves them away, and makes them very special. In fact, it’s quite a sensible take on creating a social network.
Tell me what different different Facebook chat smileys are possible?
There are a huge number of smileys available for you to copy, but sadly users can’t use them in your Facebook status or on the walls of other Facebookers. Currently, the one way to use these Facebook chat emotes is to use chat on Facebook (which you can locate in the bottom right of your monitor, in the newly unleashed ‘Facebook bar’ that is now available when you first sign in to FB).
Here is entirely a simple intro to chat icons, in future postings I will inform you more about the ones that are possible and what to do in order to insert them in your chat box!

You might have heard me talk about chat symbols before on my Facebook blog, but right now it is becoming crazy! More and more people are using special chat characters in their statuses, in their user names and in their blogs instead of emoticons and smileys – it’s crazy! The reason for the rise in demand of these alt characters is simple – some people can’t use their emotes in chats any more.
When I first started using Facebook chat, it was really fun because the emotions that they have installed are really cool and clever. What happened when I used my mobile phone to access the service, however, was that I couldn’t use the same smilies because my handset didn’t support them! They did support chat symbols though!
Now I use these chat symbols every day, and I especially like using the music note in my MSN status to tell everyone what I’m listening to at a special time. I also use Twitter quite a lot to keep track of my online friends, and so more and more I use cool special characters in my tweets to show off to people online. I’m not sure if Twitter will ever introduced real emoticons of their own, but until they do I will have these ones handy!
If you know of any good chat symbols then please leave them in the comments section here so that anyone who stumbles across this blog will be able to read them and see for themselves how fun they are!

A lot of things have happened recently in the world of Facebook quotes – the amusing little statuses that people put into their home feeds which describe exactly what they are doing or watching at the time. It’s really fun to see what your friends think is amusing or interesting right now – and you can also try to make them laugh.
Have you ever used different statuses in your profile page before? It is the key to the whole Facebook system, but many people ignore them because they think that it’s just for people to say that they are eating lunch or dinner.
Facebook quotes
There are several places that you can go to find these kind of funny quotes and sayings for Facebook, but none is better than a new website which has nice lists of Facebook quotes that you can copy and paste for free from them.
Each one of these funny Facebook status updates is primed and ready to amuse your colleagues and family members on the social network, and remember – it is very important to have lots of people press ‘like’ and comment on your messages. Why? Because the more people who ‘vote’ for your updates by pressing the button and by leaving a comment, the more people that will eventually see the message on their home feeds (the system is like Digg – if more people like it then more people see it).
So what are you waiting for? Go over to the funny Facebook quotes site and start downloading their stuff – it really is hot. You can also leave a comment and tell them you find them through me (maybe they will send me some nice prizes or something).
Cheers!

I’m really excited after seeing the news that Google have recently announced that Google Chrome Extensions will soon be released for their browser. Let me explain a little why this is the coolest news since…well…since the last Google announcement!
Google Chrome extensions – Coming soon!
Google Chrome is the fastest, most lightweight browser around – it’s perfect for me to use on my netbook (or if I had a tablet, I’d definitely use it on that). There is only one thing up to this point though that was not perfect about the software – it didn’t have any way of customizing it or putting addons inside it so that I can get more out of the thing. It is open source, but so is Firefox and FF has so many different extensions and plugins that they are far and away more advanced when it comes down to it.
Now Chrome has introduced extensions (well actually they are still in the ‘developer’ stage but I’m sure they will soon introduce more and more), which means that the fast and light one will surely get support for hundreds or little apps which I need to make my life online more fun.
The first extension for Google Chrome that I saw was one called ‘Bubble translate’, which is a pretty amazing piece of software which lets you translate foreign text ‘on the fly’ into a load mof different languages – it syncs with G’s own translation software so there is a huge choice. It looks cool and it’s just the beginning!
Let me know if you guys find any cool Google Chrome extensions and I’ll write more about them – especially one for Facebook!

As I’m pretty sure you’re well aware, I’m a big fan of Facebook chat emoticons. I use them all the time when i’m on FB because I don’t usually like to waste time writing long sentences full of stuff, I just send a picture then I’m good to go! The smileys that were installed when Facebook chat came out were pretty simple, maybe even too simple, but now they have a really good range thanks to adding some new ones!
Facebook chat emoticons
Penguin Facebook chat emoticon
This one was a real shock to most people, because it had been a while since FB added any new content to their chat service – then one day up popped a Penguin! Cool. I liked it too because I use Linux and everyone knows that the penguin is like the mascot for that, so i’m happy!
Facebook Shark chat emoticon
This one was a really cool addition to the normal smilies, because nobody else had thought to put a shark into the Facebook chat program. When it was added, people went mad sending them to their friends, sometimes like 100 at a time! They also terrorized the penguin when it came out by making the shark eat it.
The pacman emoticon
Ok so it’s not technically a new emoticon, but the Pacman symbol is pretty much the best icon I’ve ever been able to send to people. I can’t believe nobody thought of it before actually!
Anyway that’s just my two cents, you can check out Facebook chat emoticons if you want to see a full list of all of the emotes for the chat software, otherwise stay cool and I’ll talk to you some other time!

I came across a funny site for finding some funny Facebook status ideas for Halloween! I love Halloween, in my neighbourhood everybody gets dressed up and goes aroung knocking on each other’s doors, and sharing the spirit of the holiday.
I remember once we knocked on the door of an old woman, who gave us each ten dollars and a huge bag of candy! I don’t think she realized how much it was, and so my mother made us give it back. Never mind.
Anyway this Halloween I expect Facebook to do something really cool – sometimes they make little changes to the layout of the website on special occasions. Maybe they will even have some Facebook Halloween emoticons! I hope so…
The best Facebook status update that I saw on that website was one for Halloween – it featured a load of symbols and characters that you can’t just type (you need to copy them) but the effect is great! Check it out:
Funny Halloween status idea: HALLOWEEN! ☾☆☂☁☹☠☽
Have a great Halloween everybody! If you love the holidays as much as I do, I’m sure you’ll have a great time. If you like this funny Halloween Facebook status, use it on your home page!

When I’m not on Facebook (and to be honest, that’s not a large part of the day), I’m usually connected to MSN (Live Messenger) chat. It’s pretty handy to have a program that’s not on a website (like Facebook chat is) – it seems like it can be more powerful than a web based one.
Anyway, I used to live in a small town in the north of France (I travelled a lot), and this meant that sometimes I would have problems connecting to MSN. This was a pain, as sometimes I would want to know what the MSN status was but of course usually if MSN wasn’t working that meant that the whole Internet was not available (so it was had to check the status).
Being on a dial up connection also had some other annoying side-effects. Have you ever been typing and then suddenly the messages that you sent out begin to be sent back to you undelivered? That happened to me so many times that I wanted to scream! It’s something to do with the login server or something, I’m not sure. Now I live in a big city so I don’t really worry about connectiong problems and I worry more about adding my own funny MSN status than the actual logging on!

I love Facebook, I can’t lie about that, and the best thing about it is when you put a really witty Facebook status! I’m not talking about the type of funny Facebook status that makes people laugh, I’m talking about when people read your status update message and then think about it for a second, and then really think it’s hilarious!
I’m talking about when people ‘like’ your status and leave you comments for days! These witty statuses are the best, and I have the best of all! Check it out!
Witty Facebook status
Example: The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
Ah yes, a classic witty Facebook status (it reminds me of the other one about the Eagle soaring high but the weasel not getting sucked into the engine of a plane!)…everyone wants to do something first, but you should always remember that sometimes it’s wiser to watch what someone does and then copy them and do it better
I love this type of status update, as it totally goes against the grain of the normal type of quote which people post like ‘if you believe you can, you will’ and other sickening quotations! I might even put a big post of quotes that you SHOULDN’T use as your Facebook status!
So there it is! I don’t think I’ve ever had a better Facebook status – it really did get me a lot of people commenting and asking me about why I put it and who I was talking about. Well remember, if you don’t know who the first mouse is…it’s probably you! If I find another witty Facebook status, I’ll let you know!

There are loads of funny Facebook status quotes on the web, but I have been looking through the net for ages and I haven’t found one better than this. Whenever you put a quote inside your Facebook status update, it definitely makes you look like you’re either smart, educated or you can use Google correctly. I think I fall into the third category – that’s why I’m writing this post.
Recently I had a problem with my forearm – every time I woke up in the morning I had a strange red mark on it and I needed to scratch it. They always say, you should never scratch it or you’ll just make it worst (that should be my own Funny Facebook status quote!) but I did, so there you go. Anyway, here’s my quote:
Funny Facebook status quotes
Example: It is easy to stand a pain, but difficult to stand an itch.
What’s the difference between an itch and a pain? Well – one is more serious (the pain), but one is certainly more annoying (the itch!). So it’s true, some problems are big and terrible, these would represent the pain. But some things are small, everyday problems…sometimes things that are very small can seem big, and they can be the proverbial itch! Can you stand the pain? Maybe we should probably face that pain sometimes – it will be smaller in the long run!
So, there it is – that’s my favourite funny facebook status quote of all time, but I’ve got plenty more! I’lll share them with you over the next few weeks and months. Until then, stay cool!

When I woke up this morning I was so excited – Facebook have introduced a new chat smiley to their increasing list and this could well be the cutest! They have decided that after months of research and preparation, they would include a penguin emoticon in Facebook chat!
I love penguins, I have for some time. Ever since I saw the movie called ‘Happy Feet’ I have been in love with the little black and white guys with the big hearts – they are always kind to each other and always seem to enjoy sliding around and having fun. This is very similar to how I use Facebook, so the Facebook penguin emote will be one of my new lifesavers!
Will the shark be unhappy? I don’t mean to sound crazy, but up until now I think that the shark emoticon on Facebook has been very happy as the #1 most cool emoticon on the entire site, but right now there is some stuff competition. I will still use the shark smilie but it will probably be less and less as I fall in love with the little penguin!
For more information about how to actually do the Facebook chat penguin emoticon, click here -> Facebook chat penguin emoticon and you can see pictures, the text to produce it and you will also be able to find lots of information about how to do all of the emoticons on Facebook – some very useful information!
That’s all from me today, I’m going back to chat with my friends and use my new Facebook chat penguin emoticon!
