I’m really excited after seeing the news that Google have recently announced that Google Chrome Extensions will soon be released for their browser. Let me explain a little why this is the coolest news since…well…since the last Google announcement!

Google Chrome extensions – Coming soon!
Google Chrome is the fastest, most lightweight browser around – it’s perfect for me to use on my netbook (or if I had a tablet, I’d definitely use it on that). There is only one thing up to this point though that was not perfect about the software – it didn’t have any way of customizing it or putting addons inside it so that I can get more out of the thing. It is open source, but so is Firefox and FF has so many different extensions and plugins that they are far and away more advanced when it comes down to it.
Now Chrome has introduced extensions (well actually they are still in the ‘developer’ stage but I’m sure they will soon introduce more and more), which means that the fast and light one will surely get support for hundreds or little apps which I need to make my life online more fun.
The first extension for Google Chrome that I saw was one called ‘Bubble translate’, which is a pretty amazing piece of software which lets you translate foreign text ‘on the fly’ into a load mof different languages – it syncs with G’s own translation software so there is a huge choice. It looks cool and it’s just the beginning!
Let me know if you guys find any cool Google Chrome extensions and I’ll write more about them – especially one for Facebook!
