Good luck getting to a vpn page when you search google. I guess the green shield is really working. Any sort of search that signals a red flag to this bitch of a country will not load. Crap pot.

I have been like living here for more than 3 years, and then i guess I am not that addicted to it now since China blocked it for too long already haha. So i dont wanna take the effort to open skydur everytime and it's like so annoying... O.o

For people using mac, there is a program called 'skydur' that works perfectly, but it only works for facebook. When you try to access other websites when skydur is on, then they will ask you to pay. For people using windows, my friends had been able to download skydur as well, but then I have no idea how to download on windows since it's in a completely different website. So for people who are using Mac can ask me on how do download and blah blah blah. Hope this helps!!

So I used to be able to access FB through a VPN called FreeVPN. It was slow and an unreliable connection, but it got the job done (with some patience)...anyway long story short; its no longer functioning. I understand why China is blocking FB, but in all honesty more people are mumbling cowardice on behalf of the government rather than cheering it as a victory for them. My guess it won't be coming back anytime soon, since they just launched their newest million-dollar filtering software last year (Green Shield is its codename i think)... so get re-acquainted with e-mail.

With one just click, FB is a sureway to connect and get response with your family and friends when you're abroad. I'm not a social whore.. I just happened to have a big family and great friends that I love dearly and need to connect once or twice a week.

And I need to access FB when I go to China soon.

i have been living in beijing for 3 years now
me and my friends have found a lot of sites that you can use to access FB youtube
if you have opera as an internet browser (i recommend, it it is very good) there is a widget that you can download called Proxy list that provides you with working internet based proxy sites
they are very good but if you want to post stuff u have to turn off the setting at the top

Been in China for a few years now and going back home soon, look forward to finally be able to use the internet without a VPN. Big problem in China seems that they seem to block more and more VPN services. I used a Swedish VPN and it worked pretty well. I hope that that the Chinese government will bring down the Great Firewall of China someday soon...
